Last weekend, a great woman I'm getting to know at church invited me and my friend Sophie to ride horses at her farm! Up to this point, my horse experience consisted of multiple pony rides as a kid (you know, the kind where they walk you around in a circle - I enjoyed those) and one attempt to ride a skittish horse when I was eleven or twelve. So I wasn't sure how this was going to go. I think horses are beautiful, but I have a healthy respect for them too! At first I was nervous, but once we got going, I felt very comfortable.
We rode for about an hour and a half, through woods and fields. After a while we started going faster, and I had thought I would be afraid, but it was exhilarating. I loved it. Horsewoman of Rohan, baby!!
The REAL horsewoman of Rohan (her name is also Brenda :)).
After the ride, we got to brush the horses and lead them back out to the pasture. They were very nice and sweet-tempered horses. I'm thankful to have had such a great experience! :)
This looks like so much fun! I love going out there. Maybe I'll have to join in the horse fun next time.
ReplyDeleteJealous!!! I've never ridden horses outside of guided trail rides. I'd much rather ride like you did.
ReplyDeleteWhenever we go down to GA (which isn't often), we ride on Jim and Tina's horses (Jon's dad and his wife). I always love it. :) I'm glad you had such a great experience.
ReplyDeleteOh I love horseback riding! So much fun... never got to do the whole brushing/taking care thing though. Awesome! I'm jealous...
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud at the title of this post :) I really hope other people got it
